CDEN Workshop 2011 - Feb. 14 & 15
The Chronic Disease Education Network Workshop (CDEN Workshop) was held on Monday, February 14 & Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Canad Inns Polo Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This workshop was a continuing education and networking opportunity for health professionals and providers in Manitoba and NW Ontario who plan, develop and/or deliver education to people with or at risk for chronic diseases.
The theme of the CDEN Workshop 2011 was 'Chronic Disease: Extending the Reach'. The objectives of this Workshop were -

To provide opportunities for skill building, information sharing and networking for chronic disease educators;

To encourage partnerships that will address chronic disease along the continuum of pre-disease to end of life care;
-
To enhance our understanding of chronic disease as a population health and primary health care issue;
-
To enhance our understanding of the connection between chronic disease and mental health; and
-
To build capacity for an integrated approach to the prevention and management of chronic disease.
